News of an insider selling off a chunk of their stake in a company can raise warning signals for investors—company leaders often indicate their priorities with their money, and reducing their position in their own firm can be a sign that bad news may be on the horizon. On the other hand, there are so many reasons why an insider might opt to buy or sell that it's dangerous to make assumptions without additional context.
The bigger question for investors should be whether the business can continue to execute. In the case of the three companies below, notable insider selling may draw investor attention—but these companies present very different investment cases.
FDA Clears Under-5 Dollar Biotech Stock for Phase 2 MS Trial (Ad)
A NASDAQ-listed biotech just cleared a major regulatory milestone. The FDA has cleared its lead multiple sclerosis therapy, Lucid-MS, to enter Phase 2 clinical trials - the first time it will be tested in patients with progressive MS.
Unlike treatments that suppress the immune system, Lucid-MS is designed to protect myelin, the insulating layer destroyed by the disease. In a pre-clinical mouse model, treatment led to movement recovery including walking.
Independent research projects peak annual sales of up to $5 billion if Phase 2 succeeds. The stock still trades under $5 per share.

Aspen Aerogels Sees Both Insider Selling and Execution Risk
Aspen Aerogels Inc. (NYSE: ASPN) makes a variety of aerogel-based products used in insulation, fire protection, and other applications across multiple end markets. In particular, it has become a valuable partner to companies in the automotive industry, as its products have enhanced battery safety.
Wood River Capital sold more than $58 million worth of ASPN shares in September 2026, a healthy bit of profit-taking as the stock has surged by 100% year to date (YTD). Investors might see this as a sign that this firm believes ASPN's rally may be losing steam.
On the other hand, though, Aspen is positioned to benefit from longer-term electric vehicle (EV) adoption trends, as its products play an important role in EV design and the company has few competitors in the space. In this respect, Aspen's performance may hinge on whether EV production growth picks up in the years to come, which may be tied to broader concerns about the economy, materials and freight costs, and consumer appetites.
In the near term, Aspen's projections look rosy: the company recently improved its outlook for Q3 2026 and now anticipates quarterly revenue between $65 million and $80 million thanks to heightened energy-industrial deliveries and demand for thermal-barrier products. That's enough to earn it a solid Hold rating from Wall Street analysts.
Workday's Sell-Off May Be Routine, But Valuation Concerns Linger
Workday Inc. (NASDAQ: WDAY) is an enterprise software firm providing a platform to manage people, finances, and operations for organizations of all kinds. Co-founder and former CEO David Duffield sold well over $100 million in WDAY shares in multiple transactions across September 2026, sparking concerns among cautious investors.
These transactions may resemble regular selling activity that takes place among leaders of mature software companies, however, rather than a rush to exit the stock. After all, Workday has continued to excel in its operations—it is still a leader in cloud-based human capital and financial management, owing to strong recurring revenue and customer retention and an expanding portfolio of AI-based tools.
The bigger question for investors may be the stock's valuation. WDAY shares trade at nearly 38x earnings after rising by 38% in the last three months. Subscription revenue and AI adoption are up in the latest quarter, but investors could still understandably be cautious about a company trading at a premium like this. WDAY stock receives a Hold rating overall, perhaps for this reason.

In 2019, Charles Mizrahi named Marvell Technology his top AI pick. It's since climbed 1300 percent.
Now he's pointing to a different company tech giants rely on to power their AI networks, one that's not yet a household name despite receiving 10 billion dollars a year in funding.
The global AI market is projected to grow more than 1800 percent, reaching 5.2 trillion dollars by 2035.

Everpure's Rally Has Been Significant, But It Could Continue
Everpure Inc. (NYSE: P), a data storage technology firm, has experienced a significant sell-off of tens of millions of dollars worth of shares by multiple insiders in the last month. The stock has come close to doubling YTD and is up 52% in just the past month alone. This may be attributable to its successful execution of a growth strategy that aims to expand revenue while also improving operational efficiency and profitability.
The company remains in a highly competitive industry, however, and continues to face execution risks. Investors may be wondering whether it can maintain its impressive pace of sales growth—revenue recently climbed 38% year over year in the latest quarter, for instance—and whether its increased full-year guidance is too ambitious.
Whether to follow the insiders and sell comes down to an individual investor's conviction. It's certainly understandable to want to make a safe bet and sell while shares are up dramatically this year, but investors may also not yet see signs that Everpure's financial growth is slowing. In the latter case, it may make sense to continue to hold—or even to buy. Wall Street analysts generally agree on that last point: 17 of 21 ratings are Buys for Everpure shares, even as the consensus price target is roughly flat with recent prices.
